ENGAGEMENT FAQ

ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW MANY OUTFIT CHANGES CAN I HAVE FOR AN ENGAGEMENT SHOOT?
I always recommend 2, a casual and dressy outfit.

HOW LONG IS AN ENGAGEMENT PHOTOSHOOT?
Typically each session can last anywhere from 1 to 1.5 hours. I like to shoot until everyone is satisfied with the photoshoot and with hundreds of shots to choose from.

WHAT TIME IS THE BEST TIME TO SHOOT?
I prefer to shoot right before sunset so the exact time depends on the season and daylight savings time. That is what photographer’s call the sweet spot when the sun is low and the light is soft.

HOW MANY IMAGES WILL I GET?
I always shoot 500 or more images during a single engagement session. I like having more than enough images to choose from. Most of my clients receive 30 or more edited, high quality images with 2 filters each.

WHEN ARE YOU AVAILABLE TO SHOOT?
I like to reserve Friday and Saturdays for weddings and prefer to photograph other sessions on the weekdays. If we somehow can not photograph on a weekday, we can photograph on a Sunday instead.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE HAVE OUR ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS TAKEN?
If you are doing Save the Dates, I recommend 5 months before the wedding date. If you are using the images for wedding invitations, I recommend 3 months before the wedding date.

HOW LONG UNTIL WE RECEIVE OUR EDITED ENGAGEMENT PICTURES?
All your edited images will be uploaded to your private online gallery no later than 2 weeks after the photo session. From there, you can download and print as you’d like.

MY FIANCE DOESN’T LIKE TAKING PICTURES. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
I’ve photographed many men who hate taking pictures and you could never tell. My goal is to make you feel comfortable like I’m just a friend taking your pictures. I will be constantly talking behind my camera and guiding both of you on how to pose. I will give you both plenty of direction and most importantly, I will make it look natural.
